Preventive maintenance is the care and protection of your vehicle against potential major auto repairs. Negligence is the most common and costly way to see money wasted on repairs that could have easily been prevented through regular service intervals. Depending on your vehicle’s manufacturer, avoiding preventive maintenance on certain parts and components has the potential to void warranty coverage.
The best way to keep your vehicle running as well as if it was the first time you drive it is with a regularly scheduled maintenance. This will extend the life of your vehicle and prevent high cost auto repairs.

Every vehicle has an owner’s manual. With manual in hand, head to the maintenance schedule section. Take note of the intervals for such maintenance items as the engine oil and filter, tire rotation, belts and hoses, and so on.
Oil is your engine’s life blood. It serves as a lubricant, keeping important engine parts from grinding against each other and destroying the engine, allowing the internal parts to work together effectively without overheating.
Your tires need to be properly inflated to do their job, as well as to lessen the chance of a blowout; if you don’t know the correct tire pressure. You’ll find that information on a placard located on the driver’s door jamb or in the owner’s manual.
The motor oil isn’t the only fluid to check on your vehicle. You also need to check the Brake fluid, Coolant or radiator fluid, Transmission fluid, power steering fluid and washer fluid.
You also need to inspect the belts & hoses of your engine. The hoses direct coolant flow to ensure the engine doesn’t overheat. The timing belt is critical to the operation of your engine.
The battery, wiper blades and the air filter. This will prevent any future problems for your vehicle.
